CyberpunK collaborated with ASUS to hold the first-ever PINBO robotics competition at Yi-Shiue Junior High School on May 25th and June 1st, 2024. CyberpunK designed a total of two competition themes: Tide Turners & Siege and Conquer. Our team hopes to inspire young kids’ passion in robotics and incorporate the values of Coopertition® in the game design to encourage collaboration between teams.
建中機研在2024年5月25日與 6月1日於義學國中舉辦首場PINBO機器人大賽(由華碩贊助提供機器人設備),並以建中機研設計的兩個競賽為主題:扭轉潮流與攻城略地。我們期待這樣的競賽能夠激發七至九年級生對於機器的熱情,此外,我們也在規則設計時融入合作競爭精神 (Coopertition®) ,鼓勵參賽隊伍間的合作。
In the Tide Turners competition, students design robots to collect ocean wastes and collaborate to solve environmental challenges. On the other hand, our Siege and Conquer competition challenged students to strategize the best way to attack and defend their castle.
在扭轉潮流的競賽中,參賽學生自行設計得以蒐集海洋垃圾並解決環境問題的機器。而攻城略地比賽則考驗學生運籌帷幄攻守城池的能力。
Highlights of the competition are:
1. Instead of just letting students attend a normal robotics course, students think outside the box to build their robots and score the most points just like in FRC competitions.
2. Students learn to analyze the pros and cons of their design and strategize on how to maximize game points, they also need to consider how to cooperate with other teams during competition.
3. Students can attend even without prior knowledge! We created our own PINBO Kitbot as a basic module for students who need more help.
建中機研所設計的PINBO競賽課程有以下特點:
1. 相比於一般的機器人使用教學,以如同FRC競賽的方式鼓勵學生跳出框架設計獨一無二的機器,在競賽中盡力爭取好表現。
2. 透過競賽目標,學生學習分析不同得分策略並進行設計的取捨,同時必須思考如何與隊友或對手合作。
3. 學生不需要任何先備知識就能參與!我們有打造一台範例機器人能夠給予學生設計上的靈感。
The following is one of the feedbacks from teachers at Yi-Shiue:
"From the competition results, it is evident that students can easily grasp the basics of robotics through the competition design, from assembling and operating robots to writing programs and executing the overall process. Moreover, the objectives of fostering teamwork and communication have also been achieved. Compared to other purely theoretical subjects, it is truly remarkable to see students so engaged in the course!"
